Case study: Médiathèque de Terrasson

Contemporary beacon

The mulitmedia centre with its long glass and stainless façade is a contemporary beacon in Terrasson, in the French Dordogne department. ETAP's R8 diffusors complete the aesthetic picture.

The design of the spaces lead to a lot of browsing, leafing through and researching printed as well as electronic reading material. A red curtain makes for a cosy corner and invites children to the reading hour.   Whimsical and colourful ceiling units provide the interior with a fairy-tale touch.
The cylindrical R8 luminaires emphasise the multimedia centre’s dynamic appeal. Sober lines alternate with sections where the luminaires seem to be randomly suspended from the ceiling. The diffusers spread a comfortable light, which is pleasant for reading. With the HaloOptics diffusor the luminaires provide sufficient illuminance, without blinding the readers.
