Case study: Hochschule RheinMain

Endless light

The Hochschule RheinMain was founded in 1971 as the Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences. Since September 1, 2009, it has been called the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences / Wiesbaden Rüsselsheim Geisenheim. In 2011, a total of some 10,200 students graduated in 46 courses of study at the Hochschule RheinMain. Under the second federal economic stimulus package, an additional EUR 17.3 million could be made available for the energetic renovation and equipment of the existing buildings. The building in Wiesbaden houses the departments of Civil Engineering and Architecture.
The solution for the renovation of the lighting system therefore had to be not only energy efficient, but above all also architecturally appealing and flexible.

Integral desing concept
The Hochschule RheinMain opted for "Endless Light" - ETAP’s Kardó lighting system - which allows an integral design concept to be implemented throughout the building without any compromises. The basic profile with its distinctively styled geometry can be equipped with a wide range of light modules (spots etc.) that can be incorporated anywhere on the profile.

Project sheet:

- 51 Kardó 90 systems
- 9 Kardó 90 in-line luminaires
- 34 Kardó 90 individual luminaires (surface mounted)
- 54 spots
- 98 K9 modules (integrated)
